URGENT SAFETY NOTICE

Elevators installed with more than 4 inches of “gap space” between the hoistway doors and the elevator car doors can pose a serious safety risk. Children may become entrapped in the space and could be seriously injured or killed. This risk can be reduced with the proper installation of space guards at each floor.

Spring Cleaning Tips for Your Home Elevator Cab

Spring Cleaning Tips for Your Home Elevator Cab

With spring now here, here are spring cleaning tips that you’ll want to follow when caring for your home elevator cab.

For those who have home elevators, the elevator cab can be an underappreciated, yet highly valuable, part of your elevator. After all, the elevator cab is where people stay while they’re being transported from one floor of their home to another. Proper cleaning and maintaining of this cab is important if you want to keep it fully operational. With spring now here, here are spring cleaning tips that you’ll want to follow when caring for your home elevator cab.

Get Dusting and Vacuuming Done

It’s easy for dirt and dust to develop within your elevator cab. As such, part of your spring cleaning routine should include getting your cab dusted and vacuumed. You should pay extra close attention to crevices and corners because these areas are much more prone to dirt and dust accumulation.

Deal With Spills Swiftly, Should They Arise

If you do have spills in your elevator cab, those spills should be addressed quickly. A clean cloth with some mild cleaning solution should be sufficient. Just be sure you blot the affected area instead of wiping the spill because wiping can cause the spill to spread to other areas. The sooner you deal with spills, the less time those spills will have to set in.

Give Your Elevator an Inspection

While you’re getting your elevator cab cleaned, it’s also a good time to get an inspection done for your elevator. Get an elevator company to professionally inspect your elevator. Parts that should be inspected include the mirrors, handrails, buttons, and lights. When you get these components inspected early on, you can detect any problems they have while those problems are still small. This prevents problems from growing and becoming more costly and time-intensive to fix.
