URGENT SAFETY NOTICE

Elevators installed with more than 4 inches of “gap space” between the hoistway doors and the elevator car doors can pose a serious safety risk. Children may become entrapped in the space and could be seriously injured or killed. This risk can be reduced with the proper installation of space guards at each floor.

Home Stairlift Myths You May Hear

Home Stairlift Myths You May Hear

These are some of the myths that have arisen regarding the home stairlift.

Stairlifts can improve the quality of life that someone has in their home. With a stairlift, you can get up and down the stairs of your house safely and easily, even if you have limited mobility. Some people may be hesitant about buying one, however, because of certain things they’ve been told about them. We’re here to reassure you that these are myths that are able to be debunked. These are some of the myths that have arisen regarding the home stairlift.

“A Home Stairlift Fills Up the Whole Staircase”

This would be a big concern if it was true. After all, there may be people in your home who can still use the stairs comfortably. You wouldn’t want to block off the stairs in order to get your new home stairlift installed.

Fortunately, home stairlifts don’t actually block off the staircase. You can fold the arms, footrest, and seat when they’re not in use, allowing people to continue using the stairs as normal. This means that foot traffic doesn’t have to be disrupted.

“I Can’t Use a Home Stairlift If My Staircase is Curved”

Many stairlifts are used on straight staircases, and they are designed to simply move up and down the stairs. There are, however, other stairlifts available that can be customized for use on curved staircases. Curved stairlifts are also available, meaning you can still enjoy the benefits of a stairlift, even if your staircase is curved.

“Stairlifts Take Your Independence Away”

This is the opposite of the truth. While it can feel like you’re giving up your independence in order to rely on your new stairlift, the fact is that stairlifts actually help you to reclaim independence that you’ve lost. Once you install a home stairlift, you’ll be able to navigate through your home without needing assistance from others.
