URGENT SAFETY NOTICE

Elevators installed with more than 4 inches of “gap space” between the hoistway doors and the elevator car doors can pose a serious safety risk. Children may become entrapped in the space and could be seriously injured or killed. This risk can be reduced with the proper installation of space guards at each floor.

Features to Expect With Your New Home Elevator

Features to Expect With Your New Home Elevator

Here are home elevator features that you’ll want to have.

A home elevator is a handy feature for many homeowners. When you have one installed around the house, it’ll help people navigate the different levels of your home more safely and easily. Not all elevators are the same, however, and you want to be sure that your elevator comes with all of the features you’d like. So, what features can you expect to get? Here are home elevator features that you’ll want to have.

Cab Gates

All home elevators must have cab gates for safety purposes. These gates are available in a variety of styles, such as bi-folding, automatic sliding doors, or accordion folding. If you get folding gates, there are some types that can be operated manually, while other variants are operated automatically whenever the elevator reaches its destination.

Hall Doors/Gates

Your home elevator will also require a door that’s fixed to every landing in your home. You could get a swing-style door that complements the look of other doors in your house, or you could get a door that slides automatically, which makes it easier and more convenient to use.

Entry/Exit Style Doors

When we say entry/exit-styles doors, we mean that you could get a home elevator with two separate doors: one for entering your elevator, and another one for exiting it. This is different from a standard one-door elevator, but it could be a good idea if you have additional landings that you need to access around your house.

Safety Features

No home elevator is complete without its safety features. Yours should come with various features, like an emergency lowering mechanism, a phone for calling for help, a braking system that stops your elevator from overspeeding, and a button for emergency stops.
