URGENT SAFETY NOTICE

Elevators installed with more than 4 inches of “gap space” between the hoistway doors and the elevator car doors can pose a serious safety risk. Children may become entrapped in the space and could be seriously injured or killed. This risk can be reduced with the proper installation of space guards at each floor.

Learn how to buy a residential elevator..

Whether you or your family members have a mobility issue or you just want to improve traveling around your home, a residential elevator is a wise investment for any homeowner.  Choosing an elevator for your home can be a stressful process for everyone involved, but it doesn’t have to be.  There are several things to consider when looking for the right home elevator from your budget to the size of your home.  Luckily, there are few simple tips follow when buying a residential elevator.

Decide On A Budget

Before you even start looking specific elevator models, you need to decide on a budget and try to stick to it as best as you can.  Your budget for your elevator depends on what you want to get out of your elevator.  If you want a basic car that is simple in design, that will be more affordable than an elevator that is designed with glass and other high-end material.  When choosing an elevator, you also have to factor in the price of the hoistway, which will house your future elevator.

Elevator Size

When choosing your elevator, you need to know how large you want your car to be and if you can fit it in your home comfortably.  Most cab sizes range from 3 feet wide by 4 feet deep to 3 feet wide by 5 feet deep depending on how large you want your elevator to be.

Go For A Test Ride

When you are in the process of choosing an elevator, it is recommended that you go for a test ride.  If you know anyone with a home elevator, then ask them if you can see their system and get familiar with all of the parts.  Ask them how each part works and how to care for each area of the elevator.
